Disaster-resistant buckwheat attention to disease prevention

This year, many provinces and cities in China suffered from waterlogging in the early stages, sustained high temperatures and droughts in the medium term, and suffered heavy losses in agricultural production. Some localities have adopted some measures for disaster response management to try to minimize the damage. Among them, some places rush to replant or are preparing to replant some buckwheat so as to recover some of the losses.

Although buckwheat is a crop with many advantages, some diseases, such as blight, ringworm, downy mildew, and brown spot, deserve our attention during the birth process. In order for the buckwheat cultivar to be planted to increase yields, it is necessary to prevent and treat diseases in time.
Disease identification

About one-half month after onset of emergence of Blight, the first appearance of a russet-like lesion on the base of young shoots of the seedlings, and then spread to the periphery of the diseased part of the stem, after the lesions communicated with each other was depressed, causing the seedlings to fall and dry. After damage to the cotyledon, the lesion perforated and the margin was incomplete.

The ring vein lesions are round or conical, 2-10 mm in diameter, with concentric ring patterns, and black spots in the middle of the lesions. The lesions on the stalk are fusiform, elliptical and red-brown. When the diseased plant is severe, the leaves fall off and the stems die.

During the period from the seedling to the flowering stage, the downy mildew disease caused massive chlorotic lesions on the surface of the affected plant leaves, and a mild white frosty moldy layer was formed on the back of the lesions. On severe onset, the leaves curl yellow and eventually fall off, and the diseased leaves develop from bottom to top.

Brown spot began to appear round or oval red-brown lesions on the leaves, the periphery has obvious edges, the lesion gradually turned to gray in the middle, and then turned brown and dead, the disease before and after flowering increased.

Precaution

Soaking Seeds can be soaked in warm water at 50°C for 5 minutes, then allowed to cool and dry.

Seed dressing can be used 50% carbendazim WP 25 g and 10 kg of buckwheat seed dressing.

Spraying pesticides for part of the buckwheat seedlings that have already developed blight, the spot may be sprayed with 65% dexamethasone WP 500-600 times, or thiophanate-methyl 800-1000 times, or 3 %Oxygen Chloride 800-1000 times, or 2.5% Shiloh seed coating agent spray 10 ml per acre 20 kg. For ringworm disease, it can be sprayed with 0.5% Bordeaux or 65% 600-fold solution of dexamethasone or 40% carbendazim suspension 500-800 times. For downy mildew, it can be sprayed with 800-1000 times the amount of virucidal (metalaxyl) solution or 75% of chlorothalonil wettable powder 700-800 times in the early stage of pathogen infection.
