Eating more corn can prevent eye diseases

The US "Today Medical" website recently reported that various eye diseases that may occur after the elderly are actually avoided by improving diet.

Researchers at the Tufts University Center for Nutrition and Vision Research analyzed the daily diet and other data of 4,000 middle-aged and 55-80-year-olds and found that eating regularly does not lead to elevated blood sugar and can protect the eyes. Food can help prevent eye diseases in the elderly. These simple changes can not only reduce medical costs, but also prevent the deterioration of the quality of life caused by these eye diseases.

In general, the most effective nutrients for preventing eye diseases in the elderly include vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, lutein, zeaxanthin, and omega-3 fatty acids. Vitamin C can be eaten by eating fresh vegetables and fruits; vitamin E is mainly found in green leafy plants; zinc is found in foods such as oysters, animal livers, peanuts, and meat; lutein, also called carotene, is present in more than zeaxanthin. In corn, omega-3 is an essential fatty acid that cannot be synthesized in the body and needs to be eaten by eating vegetable oils such as fish, fish oil and linseed oil.
