Summer ginkgo management

1. Papaya

Ginkgo longevity, but improper planting management, especially the loss of topsoil, will expose a large number of roots exposed on the surface. Ginkgo biloba, which grows on slopes, is particularly prominent. In severe cases, the depth of the exposed roots can reach 30 cm or more. Therefore, we should do a good job of earth-cultivation to make the roots buried below the surface of the earth in order to give full play to its role in absorbing nutrients and water.

2. Pine disk

The root system of Ginkgo biloba is well-developed. In summer, it is necessary to maintain the loose soil around the main absorption root. Under normal circumstances, the ginkgo canopy under the tree should be kept loose for a long time (in the nursery of growing ginkgo trees, plowing twice per year).

3. Fertilization

Conditions can be applied to the area of cake fat, because the ginkgo has a stronger adaptability to the cake, in the early stage of fruit enlargement, the fruit can grow quickly without falling off. After entering the summer, topdressing nitrogen fertilizer should be careful, according to the growth of the plant, generally 0.3% to 0.5% of the urea solution sprayed or 1% to 2% urea solution poured on the ground.

4. Drainage and Irrigation

Ginkgo is hi moist, but afraid of water. Tests have shown that ginkgo growing on embankments and sandy soils will not be deadly when soaked in flowing water for less than 7 days. However, if the water soaking time exceeds 10 days, it will lead to the death of Ginkgo biloba root system. Therefore, after a heavy rain, especially when it comes to rainy weather, or where the soil is heavy, the drainage is poor, and the groundwater level is high, we must pay special attention to the drainage work.

Ginkgo is not tolerant of stagnant water and is not tolerant to excessive drought. Low air humidity also affects Ginkgo biloba's growth and fruiting, especially in the period of rapid expansion and flower bud differentiation. Prolonged drought not only drastically reduces the growth of the year, but also affects the growth of the second year. Therefore, the weather is continuously dry, especially in the high-temperature and dry season when the water demand is large, and the ginkgo nursery should be timely watered and irrigated.
