The disadvantage of dry and antiseptic is that the skin is rigid, easy to break, hard to macerate, and susceptible to damage by worms during storage.

Salted salting method The use of dry salt or salt water to treat fresh skin is the most common and reliable method for preventing skin rot. The amount of salt is generally 20% of the tare weight, and it is evenly spread on the leather surface, and then the plate is stacked on the plate surface for about 1 week.

The salt solution is gradually infiltrated into the skin until the concentration of the salt solution inside and outside the skin is balanced to achieve the purpose of preservation. The salted and preserved fur is suitable for long-term storage and is not susceptible to worm attack.

Salt dry salt dry method is a combination of salting and drying two kinds of preservative methods, namely, salting and drying, so that the moisture content of the raw material skin is reduced to 20% or less, the fresh skin is salted, the salt solution gradually in the drying process Concentration, bacterial activity is inhibited, and then dried to achieve the purpose of preservation.

The disadvantage of the salt dry method is that due to the shortening of the collagen fiber bundle during drying, salt grains are formed in the skin, which may affect the natural structure of the dermis and reduce the raw material cortex.
