Sufficient vitamin E can guarantee high hatching rate of eggs, and can make up for lack of feed selenium. Turkey needs more vitamin E than other poultry during the breeding season.
The growth and production of turkeys are also inseparable from mineral elements. Mineral elements mainly refer to calcium, phosphorus, chlorine, sodium, potassium, magnesium, iron, manganese, zinc, copper, sulfur, cobalt, and selenium. The physiological functions of mineral elements include the composition of bones, egg shells, feathers and other complex substances. Participate in the digestion and absorption of nutrients and participate in reproductive and other physiological activities. If the turkey can't take in enough mineral elements, it will affect growth, illness, and even death. Therefore, keeping turkeys, especially large-scale turkeys, must add various minerals according to the breeding standards in order to achieve the best breeding results. (II) Feed formulation Turkeys are fed by grazing plus dry feed, fresh pasture plus dry feed, grass powder plus dry feed and completely dry feed. When the feed formulation changes, it needs to change gradually. Feed formulations can be designed using trial and error methods, formula methods, square methods, drawing lines and computer methods. Regardless of the method, the basic principle is to satisfy all the nutritional needs and balance of turkeys by adjusting the content of various feed ingredients. When energy-intensive feeds are needed, the proportion of cereals should be increased in formulas, high protein feeds should be used, and the proportion of plant or animal protein raw materials such as fishmeal and soybean cake should be increased.
