Battery installation

1. Rotate in the direction of the arrow on the battery compartment to open the battery compartment cover.

2. Place two AA number batteries in the box and make sure they are placed in the battery as indicated.

3. Must be alkaline or carbon-zinc batteries. Do not confuse battery models and old and new batteries.

4. Rotate the battery cover in the opposite direction of the arrow on the top of the box until the cover and instrument are appropriate, not too tight.

5. When the power switch is turned ON, if the power symbol appears on the display, it indicates that the battery is exhausted and the battery should be replaced. If the power symbol does not appear, check that the battery is properly inserted or has power.

Zeroing

Whenever you need to turn it on after turning off the power, you need to zero. The instrument can be zeroed by following the steps below.

1. When the power switch is turned ON, the display will appear.

2. When there is no sample in the sampling clip, close the sample holder with your finger until the sound of “drop” is emitted and the display shows “―——”, release the sample holder, and zero adjustment is completed.

3. If a continuous "drip" sound is emitted and the screen displays "CAL", the zero adjustment is not completed correctly (because the sample holder is not completely closed when zeroing or the sample holder is opened before the zero adjustment is completed). Repeat step 2 to keep the sample holder fully closed until zeroing is complete.

4. If a continuous "drop" sound is emitted, the screen displays "CAL" and "EU" appear at the top of the screen, the launch window of the sample holder

The receiving window may be dirty. Repeat step 2 with lens paper cleaning.

measuring

The SPAD-502 can be easily measured in the field.

1. Measuring area is only 2mm × 3mm, can be used to measure relatively small leaves, the sample thickness can reach 1.2mm. The center line indicates the center of the measurement area.

2. Hold the sample holder with your finger until a measurement that gives a “drop” appears on the display. The measured value is automatically stored in the memory.

3. When using the instrument directly under the sun, use the body to cover the sunlight to the instrument so that it does not affect the measurement results.

4. Do not attempt to measure absolute thick parts such as veins. If the measured blade has many veins, the best way is to take several measurements and take the average.

5. If a series of "drip" sounds and "---" flash on the display, the measurement step is performed incorrectly (the sample holder is not completely sealed, the sample holder is opened before the measurement is not completed, or the sample is too thick or Too small).

6. If the measured value has a decimal point flash, no decimal point or the measured value is greater than 50.0, the measurement accuracy is not guaranteed. Please re-measure.

7. If the launch or receiving window of the sample holder becomes dirty or has some water, there will be no accurate measurement results. Check that the sample holder window is clean before measuring.

data processing

1. If the memory is full, the measurement will disappear after the measurement is continued. The other data will move forward to the storage position, and the newly measured data will be saved in the memory at the time of measurement.

2. After measuring several values ​​or the memory is full, you can calculate the average of these values. Press the “AVERGE” button and the screen will display the average value. Note that this average is the average of all the values ​​in memory.

3. The memory can store 30 data, and the “DATA RECALL” button calls up to display the previous measurement data.

4. The “1 DATA DELETE” button deletes the currently displayed data. The “ALL DATA CLEAR” button deletes all measured data.

5. Note that if the power switch is turned off, the data in the memory will disappear. Please record the data in time.

Input compensation value

The SPAD-502 can set the compensation value within the range of -9.9 - +9.9 according to the user's intention, and the final displayed value = measured value + offset value.

Setting steps:

1. Press and hold the “AVERGE” and “DATA RECALL” buttons simultaneously, then turn on the power switch to enter the compensation value setting screen.

2. The “ALL DATA CLEAR” button is incremented by 0.1 each time, and the “1 DATA DELETE” button is decremented by 0.1 each time.

3. After setting the compensation value, the compensation value will be stored in the memory after pressing the “AVERGE” button. If the button is not pressed, the compensation value will not be saved and the previous compensation value will still reside in the memory.

4. After setting, turn off the power switch and turn it on again. The instrument will automatically prompt the compensation value that has been set.

Reading check

1. Press the “1 DATA DELETE” and “DATA RECALL” buttons at the same time and turn on the power switch. The instrument will enter the reading verification mode. “CH” will appear on the screen and will quickly become “CAL”.

2. Close the sample holder with your finger until the sound of “drop” and ““-” appear on the display, release the sample holder and complete the zero adjustment.

3. Insert the reading verification card into the sample holder. Make sure the check card completely covers the receive window. Press with your finger to close it, then take measurements and repeat several times.

4. Press the “AVERGA” button to get the average value. If this value is not in the range, the transmit or receive window may be dirty. Clean and repeat the above steps. If it still doesn't work, it may be that the instrument has failed. Please contact us.

5. After the verification is completed, turn off the power switch and turn the power switch back on to enter the measurement mode.

note:

1" The reading verification card can only be used in the calibration mode. The accuracy of the value measured in the measurement mode cannot be guaranteed.

2" The reading verification card can only be used indoors, where there is no direct light, and the temperature and humidity should not be too large.

3" Do not touch the glass surface of the calibration card to prevent soiling. After staining, it should be cleaned with lens paper.

4" Put the check card into a special box, do not store it in a place with high temperature and humidity.

5" There is a difference between the calibration value and the measurement reading on the calibration card. It cannot be corrected by the input compensation value.

other

1. The SPAD-502 is waterproof and can be measured in the rain. After the operation is completed, dry it with a soft, clean cloth. But don't wash it directly with water.
