1. Selection of traps
The best black light, followed by ultraviolet light, ordinary fluorescent tube outsourcing blue-green or pink purple silk has a good effect, while the incandescent light slightly less effective. This is because insects tend to have strong radiances toward blue, violet, and some ultraviolet light of short wavelengths, and are insensitive to red and orange light of longer wavelengths. The black light has soft lighting, suitable wavelength, strong penetrating ability, large trapping range, and best effect. The black light can trap more than 700 kinds of insects, especially the lepidopteran, moths, leaf moths and gold of the Coleoptera Tortoises, cockroaches, and leafhoppers of the same species are particularly attractive.
2. Insect lamp installation
It is best to install a double trap lamp. The single insect trap lamp is hung low. The insect moths in the distance are less likely to be attracted and the trapping range is small. When the insects are hung up, they can attract far-infested moths and increase the trapping range. However, insect moths do not easily fall into the water, or they cannot be caught when frogs, fleas, etc. are skipped. They consume physical energy and reduce the trapping effect. If used for raising chickens, it will also cause inconvenience to chickens catching insects. Two-layer insect traps are used. One high and one low are for suspension. The low light is generally set at 20 to 40cm from the water surface, or about 0.5m above the chicken house, and the high light is about 2m from the low light. In this way, the two lights can do their best and the effect is very good. Note that there should be rain protection facilities on the insect traps, such as rain shades, to ensure safety.
3. Insect lamp on time management
Practice has proved that turning on lights overnight does not work well. The economic time is from 7 pm to 12 pm. Due to the most frequent insect activity during this time, the trapping effect was good. Various places can be adjusted flexibly according to the change of sunset dark time in different seasons.
According to the above method, with the light of 2 to 3 hours per night, the trapping insects of each group of insect traps are generally 2 to 5 kg, and the benefits are considerable.
